Shakti Arora QUITS Kundali Bhagya: Says, ‘You Can’t Suddenly Show A 30-Year-Old As An 80-Year-Old Man’
Shakti Arora opened up about his decision to quit Kundali Bhagya only nine months after being a part of the show
Renowned television actor Shakti Arora left his fans in shock when he announced that he will be quitting Kundali Bhagya, nine months after being a part of the show. Well, the show is all set to take its generational leap, where Preeta, played by Shraddha Arya, and Karan, played by the actor’s, will become the main character. Days after penning an emotional note on his departure, he has now opened up about why decided to quit the show.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Shakti revealed that one of the main reasons he left the show was because he didn’t want to play a father to a 28-year-old. Where the real-life age difference between them is only 4-5 years, and he had to call the other ‘beta’ on the show. He went on to reveal that another reason for him quitting the show is that he wouldn’t be the main character. Over the years, Shakti has played varied roles, from side character to finally playing the lead in serials like ‘Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi’ and ‘Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka’. Talking about the same, he revealed that once a character plays a parent to grown adults on television, they lose the centre stage. It was exciting for him to play the characters Karan Luthra and Arjun Suryavanshi in Kundali Bhagya, as the plot revolved around him. However, he added, “As soon as I got to know that the centre stage would be given to someone else, I said ‘okay fine, I will peacefully exit and let other people take control of the show now’.”
He added, “Me rahunga show ke last tak basharte aap mujhe meri age ka hi rkhenge. You can’t suddenly show a 30-year-old as an 80-year old man.”
Talking about the show, Kundali Bhagya will now focus on the lives of Preeta’s sons Rajveer Luthra, played by Paras Kalnawat and Shaurya Luthra, played by Baseer Ali. Sana Sayyad will be playing the role of Palki.
